Myofascial Release Certification

BECOME A CERTIFIED MYOFASCIAL RELEASE TEACHER
Feel more in tune with your body and explore how fascial health relates to states of mind while becoming certified in self myofascial release (SMFR). SMFR is a somatic, embodied practice that enhances mind-body awareness, interoception, and nervous system balance.
Psychologist, educator, and experienced yoga teacher, Diane Malaspina, will guide you through daily practices that demonstrate a variety of uses and sequences for self myofascial release. Through hands on experience, lecture, discussions, and practice teaching, you will learn:
- Connective tissue anatomy, purpose, and facial trains
- Uses of SMFR in and outside of yoga classes including contraindications and benefits
- The cycle of repetitive injury and ways SMFR supports healing
- Tools and modifications for student accessibility
- The continuum of techniques and related purposes
- Cueing, demonstrating, observing, and sequencing
- Guided practices to experience the embodiment of the techniques
NOTE Participants will receive a digital manual and have an optional homework assignments (required to receive the certificate) that involve creating a sequence and practicing it regularly to experience the benefits of consistent practice. Upon certification, this training is eligible for 20 hours of continuing education credit for yoga teachers registered with Yoga Alliance.
