Krishna Das, the "Chant Master of American Yoga" according to the New York Times, layers traditional kirtan with instantly accessible melodies and modern instrumentation. With a remarkably soulful voice, he has taken call-and-response chanting out of yoga centers and into concert halls, becoming the best-selling Western chant artist of all time. In 2012, his album Live Ananda was nominated for a Grammy in the Best New Age Album category, and he performed at the Grammys the following year. Krishna Das travels the world sharing kirtan and stories of his life on the spiritual path. He also hosts the Call and Response podcast, offers music and spoken-word videos on YouTube, and has released various albums. He is the subject of the documentary One Track Heart: The Story of Krishna Das.
