Mary Beth Ogulewicz
Mary Beth Ogulewicz, JD, MSW Candidate, RYT 500, is a mindfulness educator who worked for nearly 20 years as a criminal prosecutor with numerous local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in Massachusetts and the Territory of Guam to successfully prosecute major felonies including homicides and sexual assaults. Her professional background includes teaching criminal justice courses to law enforcement officers at the training academy and to local and international sworn officers at several universities. Her deep experience and background teaching public safety provide her with a visceral understanding of the unique stressors that law enforcement and other frontline professionals face.
She balances an understanding of law enforcement with her training in clinical social work where she focuses on teaching embodied self-regulation to those who have experienced trauma. She teaches mindfulness and trauma-informed yoga on college campuses, in high schools, and in community settings to increase well-being. She has presented workshops and trainings at the FBI National Academy Associates 2017 Florida Chapter Re-trainer Conference, the South Middlesex Correctional Center, the Women in Criminal Justice Conference, the Franklin County Probate Court, the Westfield State University Counseling Staff, and the Westfield State University Annual Conference for Social Workers.
She is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor and works as a mentor to yoga teachers in training at Kripalu School of Yoga. She received her bachelor’s from Boston College, her law degree from Western New England University and her MSW from Westfield State.
