INSTINCTIVE MEDITATION

Step into a world where meditation is natural, playful, and deeply restorative. In this five-day workshop, we will explore a variety of yoga methods for communing with the life force, including subtle movement, chanting, dancing, sleeping, walking in nature, breathing, mantras, and creative expression. Meditation is always intensely personal, and you will have a chance to discover the individual styles and pathways that work for you. The last 55 years of research have taught us that the more you individualize meditation to suit your individual nature, the better. Hundreds of scientific studies have shown that a daily meditation practice has major benefits for physical health, emotional resilience, and performance in all areas of life.

The Radiance Sutras is a fresh version of a classic text, the Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, that sets forth 112 ways of tuning into pranashakti, the creative power of the life force that is flowing through us all. In this approach, all your ordinary everyday experiences are doorways into meditation—getting excited, exhausted, angry, hungry, lonely, passionate, restless, rebellious, scared, and falling in love.

Each day you will learn about the physiology of stress, relaxation, and recovery, as it applies to your body and inner experience. In small group discussions, you will have a chance to share your discoveries and listen to others. You will also learn tools for cooperating with and speeding up the body’s innate capacity to recover from stress and exhaustion.

This workshop is open to all levels of experience. All you need is curiosity. Whether you’re new to meditation or have years of experience, this workshop is for anyone who wants to meditate in a way that feels deeply natural and personally meaningful. You’ll leave with a daily practice designed to energize, heal, and inspire your life.
