Kristin Neff
Kristin Neff, PhD, cofounder of the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion and codeveloper of Mindful Self-Compassion, is associate professor of educational psychology at the University of Texas at Austin. A pioneer in the field of self-compassion research, Kristin was the first person to operationally define and measure the construct. She has published in numerous academic articles, book chapters, and the popular book Self-Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself. Kristin is also the associate editor for the journal, Mindfulness. Her work has been covered in the New York Times, Scientific American, and Psychology Today, and on MSNBC and NPR.
