Why Study Yoga Therapy at Kripalu?

Yoga Therapy: A Path to Healing and Transformation

Imagine a program that combines the healing benefits of yoga with a holistic approach to wellness, all while offering top-tier faculty, a strong yoga lineage, and opportunities for connection, collaboration, and community. The Kripalu School of Integrative Yoga Therapy (KSIYT) – it is more than just yoga therapy training – it’s about transforming lives.

Hybrid Learning: Flexibility to Fit Your Life

In today’s fast-paced world, flexibility is key. With a combination of online coursework and in-person sessions, you can tailor your educational experience to fit your schedule. Whether you’re balancing work, family, or personal commitments, KSIYT’s flexible model ensures you don’t have to compromise on your journey toward healing.

Retreat-Centered Experience: Get Away from the Hustle and Bustle

One of the highlights of our program is that on campus, you get to experience the beautiful Berkshires while completing your coursework.  Learning in a relaxed environment, while rejuvenating your mind, body, and spirit, is what makes KSIYT unique and special.

Top-Tier Faculty: Learn from the Best

Our program is taught by some of the most respected and experienced faculty members in the yoga therapy field. These experts bring decades of knowledge, practice, and wisdom to KSIYT, ensuring you receive a top-notch education. They are passionate about sharing their teachings and mentoring students. The faculty members offer a wealth of experience, from therapeutic techniques to a deep understanding of yoga’s spiritual and healing aspects.

A Strong Yoga Lineage: Honoring Tradition with Modern Relevance

Yoga therapy isn’t just a trend – it’s a modern practice deeply rooted in ancient yogic traditions. KSIYT honors the rich lineage of Kripalu yoga while adapting the teachings to the modern world. You will study the principles of yoga therapy from a historical and philosophical perspective, while also applying practical tools and techniques that can be used today to alleviate pain, reduce stress, and cultivate overall wellness

Cross-School Collaboration: Broader Perspectives for Deeper Insights

One of the most unique and diverse aspects of our program is its cross-school collaboration. KSIYT collaborates with the Kripalu School of Ayurveda (KSA) through its Uniting Yoga and Ayurveda module. We are also working in conjunction with the Kripalu School of Yoga (KSY) to create an integrative Trauma Yoga Training stepped in the Kripalu lineage scheduled for later this year. This collaborative approach is an opportunity to expand your understanding of yoga therapy and enhance your ability to treat a wide range of issues.

Alumni Benefits: A Lifelong Support System

Graduating from KSIYT isn’t the end of your journey – it’s just the beginning. As an alumnus, you’ll gain access to ongoing support and resources, including continued learning opportunities, workshops, Kripalu’s online course platform, KSIYT’s practicum sangha, and networking events. You will have the chance to connect with others in the field, exchange ideas, and collaborate on future projects, ensuring that your professional journey continues to thrive long after you graduate.

A Strong Community: Support and Connection

One of the most profound benefits of KSIYT is the sense of community. You will be part of a supportive and inclusive network of fellow students, instructors, and alumni who share your passion for yoga therapy and healing. Together, you will learn, grow, and support one another as you navigate the challenges and rewards of your journey. The connections you make within this community will last a lifetime, and the friendships you form will be a source of ongoing inspiration and encouragement.
