AN EXPLORATION OF THE SCIENCE & ART
Deep rest states are powerfully healing and assist in resetting our nervous systems, moving us from chronic stress toward ease and equanimity. We also greatly benefit from the rejuvenative effect of positive stressors. Together, positive stress and deep rest states work together for optimal longevity.
Join Dr. Elissa Epel and Nichol Chase for a program designed to deepen your expertise in the science, art, and practice of deep rest, rejuvenation, and resilience from stress.
You will:
- Explore the science underlying the restorative effects common to meditation and mind-body practices.
- Engage in activities that explore positive stress including high intensity interval training, vinyasa yoga, breathing techniques, and hot and cold exposure.
- Experience deep rest states using various types of breathing practices, sensory immersion, restorative yoga, and live contemplative music.
Return home with a deeper understanding of the difference between positive stress and restoration from deep rest states—and how they complement each other for optimal longevity.
